Jimmy Nelson is a British photographer, currently residing in Amsterdam. Since 1987 he has travelled the world as a photographer, visiting places such as Tibet, Afghanistan, Kashmir and the former Yugoslavia. In early 1994, together with his wife, he produced ‚Literary Portraits of China‘ showing the world unknown corners of the newly opened People’s Republic. Nelson has also received praise for his work on commercial campaigns for some of the world’s leading brands. His latest project ‚Before They Pass Away‘ captures remote and unique cultures with a traditional 50-year-old plate camera. It is currently exhibited at the Museum Volkenkunde in Leiden, The Netherlands.
